The Celestion Alnico Blue is (reportably) the sound of the Vox AC amplifier.
In its original G12 guitar speaker incarnation it appeared in several colour variations, but it was the Blue T.530 version which, fitted as standard into Vox AC30 amps, that secured its place in guitar tone history.
The Blue found favour with notable guitarists like Brian May due to its glorious dampened attack warm lows mellow upper-mids and brilliant bell-like top-end.
When coupled with a suitable amplifier it evokes rich definition and develops beautiful musical compression when pushed.
According to tone enthusiasts worldwide the Blue is the benchmark for guitar speaker perfection.
Whilst this speaker is the Vox labeled and made in China version, rather than the made in Ipswich, Celestion labeled, it still has the same beautiful sound & importantly the same cone* as the UK version. Plus it’s a hell of a lot cheaper.

* Now that Celestion was producing guitar speakers in China, it would not be necessary for the International Audio Group to import the 12" Blue Alnico from the UK. However, a critical component of the G12 Celestion Blue, the Müller H1777 cone, was produced exclusively in the UK. Rather than import the Müller H1777 cone from the UK, a decision was made to substitute a different cone into the Blue Alnico speakers built for the Vox AC30HW2. No one anticipated the furor this modified Blue Alnico would cause in online chat rooms. Consequentally, Vox included the Müller H1777 cone in all Celestion/Vox Blue Alnicos produced after 2009 (Copied without permission from the Vox showroom website).
Combining decades of experience with advanced measurement and analysis the V-Type has been built using a carefully balanced ‘recipe’ of old and new design techniques.
It produces a heady exciting modern vintage sound that just makes you want to keep on playing: a guitar speaker that delivers authentic Celestion tone whatever your style.
The V-type is a sweet sounding speaker with a superbly balanced tonal signature that imparts a vintage musicality to your tone. Clean sounds are true across the lows mids and highs with just enough upper-mid chime and HF sparkle to add clarity and definition.
Crank it up for a sizzling overdrive and raw rock tones with plenty of mid-band warmth to give body and substance to lead note playing.

Originally re-released to celebrate Celestions 70th Anniversary, the G12H guitar speaker remains hugely popular with players looking to recreate the classic sounds of 60s and 70s rock.
With a strong aggressive low-end and powerful low-mids the G12H penetrates any mix with an attacking upper mid-range and an ice-cool top- end.
Used singly or in quartets it provides serious attitude to soft amp tones easily cutting through loud stage levels for chord work and imparting a hard edge to single notes.
The G12H guitar speaker is often used on its own or paired with a Celestion Blue or Gold for a full-bodied sound that adds ceramic attitude to the chime of an Alnico speaker.
It’s a very popular upgrade for Marshall DSL40CR combos for players looking for the classic rock sound.

The C12N is one of the most important speakers in Jensen’s history. It is the top 12” speaker of the ‘Blackface Era, used by many American manufacturers in the mid ‘60s for their upper range models when the price of AlNiCo became unsustainable for the manufacturers.
Clear highs, solid mids, and powerful basses, it epitomizes the tone of that decade, from the surf, the rock n’ roll, the electric blues and the West Coast inspired music.
It was used in Twin, Bassman and Bandmaster style amps, and many others.

The G12K-85 is a great all round speaker, but especially suited to rock lead and metal. Itwas a popular speaker for many years and dropped out of the Celestion catalogue. However, it was never stopped being made and so was put back in the catalogue but called the G12K-100.
It was introduced in the late 1970's, featuring a Kapton voice coil bobbin(Kapton was a new material, enabling higher power ratings than previous speakers). The same coil was also widely used in the G12T-75.
The G12K-85 is exactly as the G12T-75, but with a larger (50oz) ceramic magnet, and a more focused field to give tight control, punch and definition, with a little more bite and attack than other speakers.
The G12K-85/G12K-100/G12T-75 came to define the 'Modern Rock' sound of the 80's, as the G12T-75 has been the 4x12 mainstay from then until today.
The modern rock sound is characterised by a slightly compressed overall sound, without the high treble 'sparkle' of the vintage speakers, but with a more forward, crunchy mid range.
The G12K-85/G12K-100 has good clean headroom before the cone break-up takes over, but also responds well to all gain levels from mild crunch to death metal. It also works well with multi effect units.

Developed in the late ’70s the Classic Lead guitar speaker uses a fibreglass voice coil former to deliver an 80W power rating and a unique dynamic sound.
A firm favourite with lead guitarists the Classic Lead features a tightly controlled low-end with strong high bass/low mid punch aggressive mid range attack and a powerful yet controlled top-end.
For power chords it has the tone to make its presence felt, but the subtle high-frequency roll- off makes it ideal for solos able to project single notes on loud stages without becoming shrill.

The G12M Greenback has evolved over the decades but still retains its essential sought- after tone. Angus Young has been a Greenback devotee since the early days of AC/DC.
This model is voiced with additional broad mid-range attack and restrained top-end to give a forward punchy attitude to chords and a searing lead tone without fizz.
With its well-controlled low end it can be used singly in low-powered amps or in multiples for high-power rock heads. It’s an ideal guitar speaker to bring drive and definition to modern high gain amps.

Back in the late 60s the G12H was created by fixing an ‘H’ type (heavy) magnet to the body of a G12M guitar speaker. Result: a speaker with more power and a different tonal balance: firmer bass and a more pronounced top end.
So we added an ‘H’ magnet to the G12M-65 Creamback to create a guitar speaker that delivers the sonic signature of a G12H combined with Creamback levels of power handling.
The result is the G12H-75 Creamback. It delivers 75-watts of power handling with ease and has unmistakeable G12H tone with a tighter low end than the G12M-65 Creamback and a punchier more dynamic high end.
The H magnet brings additional focus body and girth to the Creamback tone. It thickens single notes resulting in a highly articulate vocal character. These additional characteristics mean that the G12H-75 Creamback offers exceptional performance when used for lead guitar and sounds massive loaded into a 4×12 cab.

Back in 1986 a new breed of hard rock player was on the rise. To meet the demands of the players and their increasingly ‘hot-rodded’ amplifiers we set out to develop a modern guitar speaker capable of handling much more power and overdrive. To achieve this we coupled our ‘H’ magnet (the closest in performance to Alnico) with a new cone and voice coil employing contemporary materials.
Our most revealing speaker the Vintage 30 features enormously detailed and complex overtones a warm low-end a famously rich vocal mid-range and a beautifully detailed top-end. Used singly to reveal the complexities in hand- wired boutique amps or in quartets for a wonderfully intricate vintage 3D crunch the Vintage 30 sound has been captured on thousands of recordings from a diverse range of notable players including Slash Steve Stevens and Peter Frampton.
